Performing Arts LIVE! Student Event New York

There's only one place that sprung to mind for our exclusive Performing Arts LIVE! conference event - the home of theatre - Broadway! With bright lights and iconic theatres filled with history from years of performance, Broadway is the perfect location to excite and inspire your performing arts students.

Your students will hear from a variety of stage professionals in a Broadway theatre, who have made performing arts their careers, providing great insight and advice to the students about their potential futures in this sector.

Not only will your students be inspired by performance, but they will also have the chance to consider the associated backstage careers, too. This is a unique opportunity to meet stage performers and professionals for a once-in-lifetime trip in front of and behind the curtain!

Who is the event for? 

Aimed at Key Stage 4 and 5 students of performing arts. The event is designed to complement studies across the AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC and SAQ curriculums. It is designed to meet course aims and to provide opportunities for both performance and technical studies.

Expert speaker presentations - a chance to hear from performers and industry professionals first-hand.

Q&A session - interactive question and answer sessions where students can find out more about the speakers' career paths and the opportunities for future study, offering inspiring and invaluable career advice for anyone considering a career within the creative world.

The Events Team in New York will provide support throughout your stay, they’ll:

  • Register your students at the conference and take questions


Suggested itinerary

Day 2 - New York City experience

Take a tour of the famous Radio City Music Hall and see more of New York's famous sights on a Circle Line Sightseeing Cruise. Evening meal at a local restaurant and free time to people watch in Times Square.

Day 3 - Performing Arts LIVE!

LIVE! Conference Event: Broadway Up Close Q&A, Broadway Ensemble Interactive Performance and Broadway Technical Quick Change. Followed by a New York TV & Movie Tour to iconic locations, and an evening with tickets to see a Broadway Show.

Day 4 - Sightseeing

Explore the world-renowned Metropolitan Opera House, Avery Fisher Hall, New York State Theatre, Vivian Beaumont Theatre and Alice Tully Hall on a Lincoln Centre for Performing Arts Guided Tour. Followed by free time for sightseeing and shopping before transfering to the airport for overnight flight back to the UK.

Day 5 - Return to the UK

Arrive back at UK airport.

Day 1 - Arrive in New York

Fly to New York and transfer to your accommodation. Visit the Empire State Building for spectacular views of the city at night.

This is an up close and personal moderated Q&A with 2 of Broadway's biggest stars. In this open forum, students observe the performers talking about their road to success, audition stories and even get to hear something from their repertoire.

Broadway Ensemble Experience

Featuring a musical director, students will warm up and learn the Broadway ensemble vocals from a high profile Broadway show.

Broadway Technical Experience

A Q&A with a prominent Broadway costume designer followed by learning and executing a real Broadway quick change.
