Maths LIVE! Student Event at Disneyland® Paris

Jon Chase is a science communicator, author and science rapper currently posted at Leiden University in the Netherlands. He has an intense passion for scientific thinking and believes that knowledge should be made available in a way that allows as many people as possible the opportunity to gain access to it. 

He has presented science for BBC learning on TV and YouTube and also co-authored books on The Science of Star Wars and The Science of Jurassic World. In 2017 he was awarded the Josh Award in Science Communication but is most well known for his science raps, which he has produced for various learning establishments and organisations including NASA, BBC, CH4 and Chester Zoo.

Dave is an Ambassador for Mind, Rethink Mental Illness, The Mental Health Foundation and BEAT (UK’s Eating Disorder Charity)."

Dr Josie Peters is a science communicator, comedian, illustrator and astrophysicist. During her PhD at the University of Oxford, she wanted to demystify the Universe with clear explanations - and a sense of humour! Combining her science, comedy and illustration skills Josie is an entertaining and engaging presenter who brings maths and science to life.

Josie has presented several online series for BBC Earth, worked with BBC Studios, YouTube Originals, the Natural History Museum, Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh, and popular children’s TV programme Hey Duggee! You can find her explaining astrophysics on TikTok, or singing and performing in a totally-silly non-science capacity at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Dr Matt Pritchard is a maths and science magician. As a Curator of Wonder, his amazing performances both inspire and inform.

Previously Matt conducted atomic physics research at Durham University before working at Thinktank Science Museum. In addition to this experience, he has 22 years working as a professional magician and is an Associate of the Inner Magic Circle - one of only 300 people in the world to hold this distinction. 

Matt is a TEDx speaker, Fellow of the Professional Speaking Association, runner up in the 'Illusion of the Year Contest' 2020, and an inadvertent TikTok sensation.

Bobby Seagull is a television personality (University Challenge and the Monkman and Seagull Genius Guides), author (The Life-Changing Magic of Numbers) and vocal advocate of the importance of maths and numeracy. He teaches maths at his local school in east London. 

Our lively and interactive question and answer session gives the students control to ask the questions they want answers to. All the speakers take to the stage to answer questions to provide different perspectives and to offer invaluable career advice from their own experience.

Our complementary workbooks are designed to be used as your group enjoy the Disney® Parks. The workbooks contain park challenges which encourage students to take a step back and critically appraise the resort from their subject perspective. These park challenges provide opportunity for problem solving, decision making as well as working together so that your students get the maximum from the their time at Disneyland® Paris.
