School Trips to the Czech Republic

School trips to Czech Republic (otherwise known as Czechia) offer students a tour of one of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations, due to its rich and diverse cultural history.

It’s this interesting past which makes the Czech Republic such a popular destination for school trips. Now a member of the European Union, the country’s immediate past is born out of 40 years’ worth of communist rule and the Velvet Revolution which culminated in 1993. These days, Czechia is a fully developed nation with strong exports and a very bright future. In fact, the development of the country’s business centres makes it a fascinating visit for Business Studies classes.

History and business students will find the Czech Republic mesmerizing, packed full of lots of educational opportunities that bring huge benefits. An example of the country’s rich past is its ancient tactically-important location, which gave rise to around 200 castles.

Comprised of beautiful architecture and imposing spires, Czechia is regarded as having the highest concentration of these wonderful structures in the world.
The capital city - Prague - is nicknamed ‘the city of a hundred spires’ and is renowned for its enchanting old town, supreme architecture, and appealing culture. Immediately, your students will be struck by the contrast of old meets new as they see how quickly a medieval district can merge into a modern metropolis.

Czech Republic school trips for art and music students

Yet, the Czech Republic doesn’t just appeal to history academics, those studying art or music are in for a treat as well.

The capital city of Prague is world-famous for classical music, so your students can make the most of the opportunities provided by a school trip to the Czech Republic. As the host nation of choice for many of Europe’s cultural events, Prague has a wealth of theatres, concert halls, and music venues for students to explore, enhancing their appreciation of Czech culture and the arts.

Consistently one of Europe’s most popular tourist destinations, the Czech Republic allows students to experience a country of contrasts. The lessons learnt from this fantastic nation will likely last a lifetime and should inspire your students to seek more from Europe.

Skoda Factory

Business is booming in the Czech Republic, so why not step behind the scenes at the Skoda Factory in Prague and discover the beauty of manufacturing? You'll be guided through the car manufacturing process, and explore how mass production is performed on a huge scale.

Situated in Mlada Boleslav, students can also learn about the history of the brand in the Skoda museum, discovering the evolution of the automobile from its initial inception in 1928 to the modern vehicles produced today.

Prague Castle

Explore the historic Prague Castle, which is the largest medieval castle complex in the world and one of the most impressive collections of buildings in the city. This UNESCO World Heritage site provides students with an intrinsic look at one of the Czech Republic’s most important cultural institutions.

The selection of spiritual palaces and buildings comprises a stunning array of varying architectures that will wow your students, from Romanesque-style structures to the Gothic cathedrals of the 14th century.

Today, it is the seat of the President of the Czech Republic, serving as the historical and political centre of both the city and the state.

Rückl Glass Factory

A tour of the Rückl Glass Factory gives students the opportunity to discover the world of unique hand-cut Czech crystal production. Choose from a guided tour or an experiential tour, where students can try the glass-cutting experience for themselves. It helps develop problem-solving and teamwork skills, and they can handcraft a treasured souvenir to take with them as a memoir of their visit.

The venue is a 35-minute drive from the centre of Prague, located in Nižbor, Central Bohemia, in the picturesque valley of the Berounka River. It offers a great chance to take in some of Czechia’s stunning scenic vistas along the way.

Vltava River Cruise

Explore Prague with a relaxing but educational-rich Vltava River Cruise. Appreciate panoramic views of the Charles Bridge and enjoy some downtime as students enhance their cultural perspectives with a meandering trip down Prgaue’s central waterway.
