Hypnotherapy Workshops

Discover how hypnotherapy works and how it can be used to aid general relaxation and help with anxiety, fear and phobias.  Run by experienced hypnotherapist Sharon Stiles, you can choose from a number of workshops:

  • General Hypnosis workshop – learn about hypnosis, take part in a group relaxation session and/or one individual session (teacher or over 16 year old student) to demonstrate how hypnosis works.  Great for all subject groups to bond as a group.

  • Anxiety, fears and phobias – learn about hypnosis and how this can be used to help with anxiety, fears and phobias.  Students will learn techniques to help themselves or others.

  • Self-Hypnosis – learn about self-hypnosis, what this can be used for and how to formula hypnotic suggestions.  Students can then practice on each other during the session.

  • EFT Technique – introduction to this acupressure technique and how it can be used to reduce strong emotions associated with thoughts.  Students then get to practice this technique and leave with a new tool for their self-help first aid!

This workshop will cover an introduction to Off the Reord: who they are and what they do, the mental health spectrum, common symptoms and diagnoses, mythbusting, and maintaining wellbeing and taking care of yourself.

We The Curious & Experience Psychology Workshop

With over 300 exhibits, We The Curious is a must-see experience and takes you on an incredible journey exploring the inner workings of the world around us.

Take part in their Experience Psychology workshop - this 1 hour workshop uses intriguing activities to examine memory and cognition, with an optional 1 hour investigation (Post 16 only) or 30 minute experiment (KS4 only).

Cabot Tower

Cabot Tower is situated in a public park on Brandon Hill, between the city centre, Clifton and Hotwells. It is a grade II listed building. The tower was built in the 1890s to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the journey of John Cabot from Bristol to land which later became Canada. Designed by the Bristol architect William Venn Gough and paid for by public subscription, the tower is built from red sandstone covered with cream Bath stone.

Floating Harbour

Bristol Harbour is the harbour in the city of Bristol, England. The harbour covers an area of 70 acres. It has existed since the 13th century but was developed into its current form in the early 19th century by installing lock gates on a tidal stretch of the River Avon in the centre of the city and providing a tidal by-pass for the river. It is often called the Floating Harbour as the water level remains constant and it is not affected by the state of the tide on the river.

M Shed

Located in a 1950s transit shed, M Shed is a free museum that concentrates on over 2000 years of Bristol’s history. Thought-provoking and fun, M Shed challenges the perceptions of what it has meant to live here over the centuries through the recollections of the people who shaped the city.

Rich collections of objects, art and archives play an important part in bringing those stories to life and uncover Bristol’s trading past and its role in the transatlantic slave trade.

M Shed is a living museum, where the stories of the past spark discussions about the future.
