Your dedicated Group Co-ordinator
Your Group Co-ordinator is here to ensure the smooth-running of your school tour, acting as all-round support for your group. During the course of your stay your Group Co-ordinator will:
- Meet you on your arrival, organise a welcome talk and centre orientation and organise your group into their accommodation.
- Accompany you on excursions and assist you with supervision and provide practical and historical information regarding your destination.
- Help supervise them in the dining area.
- Liaise with the Group Leader and adult members of the group on a daily basis to ensure good communication throughout your stay.
- Organise and supervise evening activities for your group.
- Encourage your students to use their language skills at all times, for example, during mealtimes and evening activities.

If you love hide and seek, you'll adore Ambush which takes this popular group game and ramps it up an extra notch! After sundown your group will split into small teams, with one team hiding within the centre grounds, leaving a trail for their competitors to follow.
Great for developing strategic and team building skills. Ambush is usually run in the dark, and torches are advised.

Each team completes a series of challenges or games to earn coins that will allow them to purchase items from a mystery box! Teams will then work closely together to create the best contraption to protect their water balloon from destruction.

The ultimate way to enjoy the great outdoors as a group! Enjoy a campfire tailored to your requirements - if your group loves to sing or simply relax with some games around the campfire, our team can cater for all ages in the idyllic settings of our campfires.

Party the night away without the noise of a disco. Every student has their own set of headphones, where they can select music from a number of channels to find the tunes they enjoy. Then spend the evening dancing away with friends or trying to guess what song your friends are listening to.

Let the battle commence! Archery with a twist - you are aiming for each other! In this game of skill and teamwork, you are equipped with foam-tipped arrows to battle it out in action-packed games. You will do some basic skills training before entering the arena to see who comes out victorious!

Do you cater for special dietary requirements?
Yes. We want every student and teacher to enjoy their stay with confidence, which is why we work closely with group leaders to understand any dietary requirements before travel. Our catering team regularly caters for a wide range of needs, including food allergies, coeliac disease and gluten-free diets, diabetes-related dietary requirements, vegetarian and vegan diets, as well as religious and cultural dietary preferences.

Does Château de Grande Romaine cater for students with SEND/ASN and accessibility requirements?
We believe every student should have the opportunity to benefit from an educational visit, and we work closely with schools during the planning process to understand any SEND, ASN or accessibility requirements within the group.
As with all NST tours, we encourage group leaders to share relevant information as early as possible so that appropriate support, accommodation and planning arrangements can be considered before travel. Our team will be happy to discuss your group's specific requirements and help ensure every student can make the most of their time in Paris and at the château.
What safety measures are in place at Chateau de Grande Romaine?
We have a huge emphasis on safety, starting with the recruitment of our staff and continuing through to all of our activities. As a founder member of BAPA (British Activity Providers Association) and a licence holder for activities in scope of AALA (Adventure Activities Licencing Authority) regulations, we make safety our priority.
A risk assessment has also been carried out at Château de Grande Romaine, with risks being outlined and managed. The risk assessment covers the grounds of Château de Grande Romaine, as well as all of the activities available at the centre.
Our Activity Instructors are experts in their area, trained and assessed both in-house and by external assessors. They’ll be there during every activity to make sure they’re completed safely and correctly.
New staff complete a comprehensive induction and job specific training followed by regular observations, feedback, reviews and assessments.
Can I visit Château de Grande Romaine before travelling with my group?
Absolutely. Visiting Château de Grande Romaine before your tour can be a valuable part of the planning process. It gives Group Leaders the chance to explore the accommodation and facilities, understand how the château operates and gain a feel for the environment their students will experience during the trip.
Inspection visits are available throughout the year, subject to availability. Your NST Educational Travel Co-ordinator will be happy to discuss the options available and help arrange a visit at a convenient time.

The fun doesn’t stop after the day’s activities! After dinner, our evening entertainment programme will keep your group amused until it’s time for bed.
