Educational Travel Advisors – Temporary Maternity Cover

When our customers book a school trip with NST, we aim to provide them with an outstanding experience each and every time. To help us continue to do this, we are currently seeking energetic, customer focussed sales professionals to join our dynamic telesales team.
The role:
As the first point of contact for our customers, creating a great first impression and then using your unique knowledge, skills and experience to help them develop an exceptional Educational Travel Experience is key to ensuring we remain the Educational Travel Provider of Choice.
Key responsibilities:
Through the effective management and development of your defined sales territory you will;
- Proactively contact Teachers, Educational Visits Coordinators and other Group Leaders within your defined sales territory to discuss current and future educational travel plans
- Develop a thorough understanding of your customers’ travel requirements, indentifying and matching them to the educational travel experiences within our extensive school tours product range
- Use in-house systems, knowledge and expertise to create quotes and provisional bookings to meet your customers’ needs and expectations
- Liaise closely with your customers to actively progress quotes and enquiries to confirmed bookings
Success in the role will rely on your ability to meet sales targets through actively prospecting new business opportunities, and effectively converting incoming enquiries from customers.
This requires you to demonstrate exceptional customer focussed sales skills and organisational skills to ensure that each customer is provided with an outstanding level of service throughout the booking process.
The following experience and skills are essential for this role:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in telephone based sales environment, preferably in a consultative sales role
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets
- A “Customer First” attitude
- Excellent persuasion and influencing skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and progress multiple customer accounts
- Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
- GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths or equivalent qualification / experience
- IT Literate with a working knowledge or Microsoft office products including outlook, word, excel and Internet Explorer
- The flexibility to travel on an ad hoc basis for destination training
Desirable skills and experience
- NVQ level 2 in Customer Service
- Travel Industry Background
- Knowledge of a European language (French, German, Spanish or Italian)
Package:
For the right candidates we offer a starting basic salary of up to £16,000 per annum (dependent on experience) plus commission, and a competitive benefits package including profit share, generous annual leave entitlements and staff travel discounts.
