Seatbelts
For the safety of all passengers, seatbelts are fitted as standard on all UK coaches and are now being introduced on many coaches registered in the European Union.
Most countries outside of the UK do not yet make the fitting of seatbelts on coaches a mandatory requirement, but wherever possible outside of the UK, NST looks to work with reputable coach companies that have fitted seatbelts, although these cannot be guaranteed. In most cases it may not be possible for us to provide coaches with seatbelts.
It is worth noting that where seatbelts are fitted on coaches within the EU, the law now requires all passengers to wear them.
Food and Drink On-board
Most coach companies allow some food and drink (non-alcoholic) to be consumed onboard the coach but will request care is paid to keeping the coach tidy wherever possible. During our planning of your itinerary our tour consultants will discuss with you the options that are available for food and drink consumption before, during and after your coach journeys.
Executive coaches will come with on-board tea/coffee making facilities.
On-Board Toilets & Toilet Stops
Our tour consultants will plan the timings of your itinerary to take toilet stops into consideration. Whilst Executive coaches do offer the advantage of an on-board toilet, toilet stops will still be made, so these facilities should only be used where absolutely essential.
Useful tip: If travelling cross-channel by Eurotunnel, make sure you leave your school in enough time to include a stop en-route to the Eurotunnel terminal or to arrive in plenty of time prior to entering boarding lanes and customs clearance.
Good planning will make all the difference!
City Centre Access
In some cities, coaches have restricted access and are not permitted to enter certain areas of the city centre. In these instances coaches normally use either pre-designated drop-off and pick-up zones or will agree suitable arrangements.
In these instances you will need to walk to some locations or use public transport such as underground metro systems or trams, which are in some European cities excellent ways to travel. This also means that you may not be able to make a tour of the city centre on your own coach.
When travelling to a city with restricted city centre access our tour consultants will discuss the options available to you and make suitable recommendations and arrangements where appropriate.
