NST Stage School Workshops
An interactive workshop, led by a qualified teaching artist, is the ideal accompaniment to your group’s West End show! You can choose from an even larger range of 90-minute workshops than ever before which can be adapted to the show you see. Two of our most popular options include:
Stage Combat
A fun and interactive session that culminates in pupils creating their own combat sequence. Heightens focus, safety, and listening skills. Please note - this workshop does not include a Q&A session.
West End 101
Involve your pupils in storytelling exercises, and introduce them to the history of the West End and professional theatre.
Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre
Explore the life of Shakespeare, the London where he lived, and the theatre for which he wrote, then take a fascinating guided tour complete with interactive displays and live demonstrations. Your group could enjoy an interactive workshop tailored to KS2/P4-7 as well.
History Visits
Hampton Court Palace
A visit to Hampton Court is essential for studying the Tudors at KS2. Your pupils will:

At the Tower of London, your group will have the opportunity to:

Imperial War Museum
This museum covers every aspect of conflict in the 20th century. The Children at War exhibition is particularly popular with our KS2 / P4-7 groups, and looks at conflict through the eyes of British children.
Museum of London
One of London’s most dynamic periods was while it was the Roman city of Londinium. The Roman collection forms a central part of the museum and holds many fine examples of ceramics, metalwork and coins, among many other artefacts collected from the London area. Give pupils an understanding of crime and punishment in Roman Britain to the Middle Ages. It helps them understand the nature of change and continuity in law and order from the Roman period, to Anglo-Saxon Law and Order to the Norman period.
HMS Belfast
This World War II museum ship moored on the River Thames offers a unique chance to explore the decks right down to the engine room to see how sailors lived and fought over years gone by. A visit here will serve as a unique reminder of Britain’s naval heritage.
Royal Observatory & Planetarium, Greenwich
The Royal Observatory in Greenwich is the home of Mean Time and the Prime Meridian of the World, making it the official starting point for each new day and year. It is also home to London’s only planetarium, the Harrison timekeepers and the UK’s largest refracting telescope.
St Paul’s Cathedral
Founded in 604, this Church of England cathedral – which has been rebuilt on a number of occasions – is one of London’s most famous and most recognisable sights.
Houses of Parliament
At this political institution your pupils will have the opportunity to visit the House of Lords, the House of Commons and Westminster Hall - formerly the Royal Courts of Justice and where monarchs and statesmen have lain in state. An hour long workshop and guided tour are also available – but make sure you book early as these options are extremely popular.

London Aquarium
This is the place to see sea life! With over 500 species, 14 themed zones and more than 2 million litres of water, London Aquarium plays host to one of Europe’s largest collections of global marine life. Dare your pupils to do the ‘shark walk’, take part in interactive feeding sessions, watch diving displays and enjoy the touch pools.

Geography Visits
Guided Olympic Site Coach Tour - Half day and full day option available
Your pupils will see history in the making on this unique Blue Badge Guide led tour. They’ll take away knowledge about this huge regeneration programme that they can use to impress their friends and family in 2012. Educational materials are included on this visit. This is our suggested tour, but we can arrange for you to go wherever you like around the city.
Dockyards
You’ll begin your journey at the Tower of London and travel to the North Greenwich Arena (O2 Dome) where the gymnastics and basketball finals will take place.
Stratford
Your coach will pass though Stratford and see the huge developments that are underway here.
Olympic Park Site
You will circle the Olympic Park - the main focus of attention during the games - for your pupils to see the ever-changing developments, including the Olympic Stadium, the uniquely designed Aquatic Centre, the Velopark and the Olympic Village.
Royal Docks
Thames Barrier Park / ExCel Centre - You’ll pass the ExCel Centre where sports such as judo, boxing, fencing, weightlifting, wrestling, taekwondo and table tennis will be hosted.

Thames River Cruise
A leisurely cruise down the Thames is a great way to see London. Our most popular option is a ½-hour trip which starts at the Houses of Parliament.

Security Deposit
A noise/security deposit is required at this accommodation. The amount is £20.00 per student. In the first instance, this amount will be charged to NST and, should any problems arise (such as excessive noise or poor behaviour or damage to the areas occupied by the group), this charge will in-turn be passed onto the group for payment.

We are able to pre-arrange and pre-pay for meals at many London eateries before you travel, so you won’t have to carry cash or queue.
