Guided Olympic Site Coach Tour
Half & full day option available.
On this tour, your Blue Badge guide will provide a wealth of information about the areas you pass through as well as the planned and present Olympic sites. This is our suggested tour, but we can arrange for you to go wherever you like around the city.
Dockyards
You will begin your journey at the Tower of London and head off through the former dockyards with views across the River to the North Greenwich Arena (O2 Dome) where the gymnastics and basketball finals will take place.
Stratford
Your coach will pass though Stratford, London’s most multi-cultural borough, and see the huge developments that are underway here, including substantial new rail links to reach the site.
Olympic Park Site
You will circle the Olympic Park - the main focus of attention during the games - for your students to see the ever-changing developments, including the Olympic Stadium, the uniquely designed Aquatic Centre, the Velopark and the Olympic Village. Your group will also be taken on a short walk by their guide to a fantastic viewpoint.
Royal Docks: Thames Barrier Park / ExCel Centre
You’ll drive through the Royal Docks where you can stop at either the City Airport or the Thames Barrier Park with an opportunity to stroll to the water’s edge to see the flood barrier. Students will also pass the ExCel centre where sports such as judo, boxing, fencing, weightlifting, wrestling, taekwondo and table tennis will be hosted.

The hostel was opened in 1991 and is situated in a residential area on the South Bank of the River Thames, approximately 2 kilometres from the Tower of London, London Dungeons and Tower Bridge. A regular bus service runs to the hostel and a tube connection is possible at Canada Water, approximately 12 minutes’ walk from the hostel. The nearest over-ground station is Rotherhithe, which is approximately 5 minutes’ walk from the hostel.
