Northern Catalonia
Northern Catalonia has been described as the Wild Coast, due to the rocky fishing villages along the coastline, once home to Gaudí and popular with tourists, yet still close to Barcelona. Popular visits include:
Figueres
This typically Catalan town is famous as the birthplace and resting place of the artist Salvador Dalí. It is also home to a fascinating toy museum and numerous shops and cafés.
Dalí Theatre & Museum, Figueres
The spectacular Dalí museum will astound students with its surrealism, from its exterior architecture to the paintings, sculptures, furniture and 3-D collages within.
Southern Catalonia
The Gold Coast has wide sandy beaches and is home to Salou and the popular PortAventura Theme Park and is also close to Barcelona. Popular visits include:
PortAventura, Salou
PortAventura has everything to make a school trip unforgettable! Both students and teachers will have a great time in the two amazing parks. PortAventura Park is an astonishing amusement park divided in five thematic areas with many rides and shows. PortAventura Aquatic Park is a water park packed with waves and slides. Opening times vary and are seasonal, usually open mid March to November.
Font Major Caves, L’Espluga
Amaze your students with a visit to the museum and underground caves, which bear traces of human occupation in this region from the Palaeolithic, Neolithic, Bronze and Iberico-Roman ages.
Barcelona
This vibrant city has so much going on and so much to explore that groups will always be busy. Popular visits include:
La Sagrada Familia
Although the unfinished masterpiece of Gaudí, this building remains the most popular tourist attraction in Barcelona. Students will be amazed by its sheer size and its architectural complexity, resulting in an unforgettable experience.
Nou Camp
This magnificent world-famous football stadium offers students the opportunity to not only witness and experience the awe-inspiring size of this venue, but also to learn about the heritage and history of this renowned football team in the Barcelona Football Club Museum.
Montjuïc

Security Deposit
Security against damage payment is payable on arrival at this hotel (€10 per person). This is refundable at the end of your stay providing there is no damage. In order to avoid misunderstanding, we suggest all Party Leaders undertake an inspection of all rooms with hotelier/centre manager on arrival and departure and any existing damage is immediately reported. Please note the hotel accepts this payment in cash only (euro).

Hotel Roma Reial & ComercioThis simple hotel offers functional accommodation. The building itself has a great deal of character and the hotel is well-managed. There is a sister establishment, the Hotel Comercio, which is located approximately 100 metres around the corner, and this hotel is also used to accommodate groups.

Hotel Roma Reial & Comercio
A very busy, city centre hotel which accommodates student parties from all over Europe. Here you’ll find good, budget accommodation in a lively, central location which very good value for money. We think it is best suited to older, self-sufficient school groups and students.
Location Information
Hotel Roma Reial is located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, in the Plaça Reial and only a 1 minute walk from the Ramblas. A weekly flea market is held here on Sundays. Transfer coaches stop at the bottom of the Ramblas to unload luggage and from here groups make the remainder of the journey to the hotel on foot (which equates roughly to a 10 minute walk). The nearest metro stop is ‘Liceu’ on the green line. The presence of working girls around city centre hotels has been reported by previous group leaders. For this reason, we suggest the hotel is not suitable for younger school parties. As in other busy European capitals, care should be taken with bags, wallets and other personal possessions.

Safety Guidance
The hotel conforms to all local standards, which does not require windows to have restricted opening or plate glass windows/patio doors to have anti-collision motifs to ensure that people are aware glass is present. Group leaders are advised to consider this in their risk assessments/group management plan and ensure appropriate control measures are put in place.

Hotel Don Juan, Northern CataloniaThis is a modern and stylish Mediterranean complex, typical of those on the Spanish coast, catering mainly for tourists on their summer holidays and very family-orientated. The hotel is built on a hill and three of the floors are laid out in terraces, which climb the hill. The bungalows are rustic Catalan style with beamed ceilings. Groups are normally accommodated in the hotel rooms rather than the bungalows.

Hotel Don Juan, Northern Catalonia
The Hotel Don Juan offers a good standard of accommodation, in a very pretty seaside town.

AddressCtra. Barcelona, 22 | Local Rating |
Capacity800 guests, 288 rooms over 4 floors |

Location Information
The Hotel Don Juan is located approximately 150 metres from the town centre, with its many facilities such as shops, restaurants, bars, and the beach is 200 metres away. There is a regular bus service to Lloret de Mar, which is about 12 kilometres away, and a supermarket just two minutes walk from the hotel. Tossa is a charming seaside resort located approximately 1 - 1½ hours away from Barcelona. It retains a much quieter, more authentically Spanish feel than its neighbour, Lloret de Mar.
