Futuroscope
Futuroscope is a theme park that’s been designed with fun and education in mind - and it’s one of France’s most visited attractions. Situated in the heart of the superb Loire Valley, there’s nowhere else like Futuroscope for learning and relaxing.
New attractions - packed with content, they offer a wealth of ideas so you can develop your educational projects around a visit to Futuroscope. In 2011, Futuroscope will be taking young visitors on experiences that use image technology to give them an insight into the future. Futuroscope opens windows to the world, teaching children about a range of vital themes including environmental protection, emerging technologies, new art forms and living better together.
The 8th continent
A dangerous mission to eradicate the waste and refuse that is polluting our oceans. More than 70% of marine pollution comes from man-made waste and our oceans are being poisoned with plastic. The idea behind this new attraction comes from the discovery in 1997 by British sailor, Charles Moore, of a gigantic “soup” of plastic waste materials stuck together by marine micro-organisms, floating in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. This “Great Garbage Patch” is so deep (around 100 ft) and so vast (three times the size of France) that it has been called the 8th continent.
Sea Monsters
A new 3D experience that takes you back to the Cretaceous period and face to face with gigantic creatures that lived in the seas in the age of the dinosaurs.
Futuroscope Digital City
The unusual venue that takes you for an artistic stroll through a digital garden, and ignites your artistic curiosity between two attractions. It’s a chance to enjoy fun, techno experiences and wander through strange, virtual vegetation, stimulating your mind as you relax.
Also at Futuroscope:
- Hurricane on the Bayou
- Brush with Genius
- Arthur, the 4D Adventure
- The Future is Wild (new version)
- Cosmic Collisions
- Children’s World
- The Blue Note Mystery (evening show)
- Dynamic Vienne
- Dances with Robots
- Fly me to the moon
Cultural Experiences
Taking part in these enjoyable shared experiences will not only strengthen friendships but also open your students’ eyes to French culture and add real value to their classroom-based learning.
Châteaux of the Loire Valley
There are a wide number of châteaux along the Loire Valley each providing an insight into French history and tradition, whilst also providing spectacular scenery and architecture. The most popular ones are: Château de Chenonceau, Château de Blois, Château Montrichard and Château d’Amboise.
Loches
Situated on the banks of the Indre, this small town is a gem of historical and architectural interest. The Go Explore Journal
When you book your language tour with NST, you'll receive a FREE Go Explore journal for every student. By keeping a daily record of their experiences on the tour using NST's journals, your students will be better able to learn and recall key language phrases.
Teachers often tell us that the journals become a treasured souvenir once their students have returned to the classroom. They can even be used to demonstrate to parents and school governors the impact of taking learning outside the classroom and used as examples of individual learning and development.
