Key Visits
Trias Biscuit Factory
This family run business has been producing quality biscuits since 1908. Take a tour of the museum, which houses a selection of artefacts including machinery and product packaging, and watch a short video about the history of the Trias family. Tour the production facilities and learn about the production processes as well as the work of the research and development department, which is focused on improving preservation techniques, the continuous improvement of flavours and research of new biscuits. Students can try samples from the Trias product range during a tasting session.
Alella Winery
This tour is an insightful way to learn about the process of wine making in a modern winery. Students will learn about the growing of the grapes: how this is affected by the region’s climate and soil, the harvest, fermentation, blending processes and bottling. Wine tastings are also available.
La Fageda Dairy Farm & Producer
This non-profit organisation supports social integration of handicapped people in the region by providing employment. Tour the dairy farm, which provides milk for a range of products including yogurts, desserts and drinks, and learn about the milking operation and health and welfare of the animals. Then see the yogurt production process in the processing plant which combines advanced technology with the utmost care for raw materials with strict control on manufacturing processes.
Torras Chocolate Factory
At the factory students will watch a video providing an overview of the chocolate production process from roasting of the beans, tempering of the chocolate and moulding, through to packaging and labelling. Students will then take a tour of the factory floor to see the process at work.

Hotel Don Juan, Northern CataloniaThis is a modern and stylish Mediterranean complex, typical of those on the Spanish coast, catering mainly for tourists on their summer holidays and very family-orientated. The hotel is built on a hill and three of the floors are laid out in terraces, which climb the hill. The bungalows are rustic Catalan style with beamed ceilings. Groups are normally accommodated in the hotel rooms rather than the bungalows.

Location Information
The Hotel Don Juan is located approximately 150 metres from the town centre, with its many facilities such as shops, restaurants, bars, and the beach is 200 metres away. There is a regular bus service to Lloret de Mar, which is about 12 kilometres away, and a supermarket just two minutes walk from the hotel. Tossa is a charming seaside resort located approximately 1 - 1½ hours away from Barcelona. It retains a much quieter, more authentically Spanish feel than its neighbour, Lloret de Mar.
