Educational Visits

Skoda Factory

This visit is ideal for Business Studies students as you can see production on a huge scale. The visit begins with an introductory film and continues through to various stages of the manufacture of a car. A question and answer session is also available.

Staropramen Brewery

With the new Visitor Centre due to open in June 2011, the new tours of the famous Czech beer will give students an insight into the brewing process, the history of the company and how the brand has expanded into overseas markets like the UK.

Ruckl Glass Factory

A tour includes a visit to glass-furnaces where the glass has been melted, the place where the glass-cutters cut ornament patterns on the glass products and a hall with examples of the cut-glass. A good contrast to the mass production at the Skoda factory.

Tesco Central Distribution Centre

An English speaking guide will escort you through the computerized logistic centre for all Tesco markets in the Czech Republic and the 2 principal store halls with goods on show. At the end of the tour there is the opportunity for a Q & A with the director where they can answer any queries including problems with turnover of goods and supplies.

O2 Arena

Take your students behind the scenes of Prague’s premier entertainment arena. Enjoy a guided tour around the arena and discover its history and how it was built. As well as visiting the public floors, students will gain an insider perspective on exclusive areas including the club floor and skybox floor, usually only open for long-term clients. Finish your tour with a visit to the Hall of Hockey Traditions.

Prague Airport Guided Tour

On this 1 ½ hour long tour, your group will get to visit the three terminals, plus the terminal for government flights, as well as hangars, background facilities, air traffic control radars and the fire station.

Heating & Power Station

A guide will take your students on a 2 hour tour to learn all about this heating and power station that’s located in Malesice, a suburb of Prague. Solid shoes are compulsory.

Prague TV Station Tour

This visit includes a short film about the history of the TV station and a viewing of a model of all the TV station’s buildings, plus the chance to see a studio, film properties, and scenery workshops. As this this visit is held in the Czech language, assistance of a local guide will be arranged for your group. Advanced booking is highly recommended.

Economic Lecture at Cerge Institute

This presentation will engage students by covering several key topics including the Czech Republic’s political system, the economic development, Gross Domestic Product, sector shares, state budgets, inflation, unemployment and import and export. At the end of the presentation, a question and answer session will be possible.

Leisure Visits

Walking Tour of Prague

A half day tour of Prague on foot and public transport with your NST guide will cover all the major historical sites of the city: Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, Malá Strana (including Church of St Mikulas) and the Castle District.

Prague Castle

The largest medieval castle complex in Europe and one of the most impressive collections of buildings in the city. Today, it is the seat of the President of the Czech Republic, serving as the historical and political centre of both city and state.
