Supervision Ratios

Many LEAs set their own supervision ratios for off-site visits and this should be your first point of reference if your schools is under LEA control.

For other schools decisions must be taken based on various factors that are part of the risk assessment.

Although staffing ratios can be difficult to prescribe and may vary depending on the conditions, age of pupils, type of visit and more, NST offers a generous ratio of free supervisory staff places which are usually greater than those required by even the most stringent LEA policies.

  • 1 FREE place for every 8 paying passengers 

Air based Tours

  • 1 FREE place for every 10 paying passengers
