Day 3: Beijing Full day visit to the Great Wall of China and the Sacred Road, lined with symbolic animal statues, and leading to the ancient Ming Tombs, the final resting place and mausoleums of 13 emperors. Overnight: Beijing. Day 4: Beijing and overnight train to Xian Morning visit to Tiananmen Square, the largest in the world. Continue with a visit to the Forbidden City with its 980 surviving buildings. Transfer to the station for the overnight train to Xian, with the provision of 4- bedded berths. An ideal opportunity to see small villages and communities during the journey. Overnight: Train. Day 5 : Xian Arrive Xian and transfer to your hotel for breakfast. Visit to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda before travelling on to visit the Huaqing Hot Springs imperial bathing site. Overnight: Xian. Day 6: Xian and overnight train to Beijing Visit to the amazing Terracotta Army Museum where over 8,000 life sized soldiers, horses, chariots and weapons have been unearthed and restored. Follow-on visit to a factory shop which specializes in the manufacturing of replica terracotta warriors. Transfer to the station for the overnight return rail journey to Beijing with the provision of 4-bedded berths. Overnight: Train. Day 7: Beijing Arrive Beijing and transfer to your hotel for breakfast. Morning visit to the Summer Palace, built alongside a large lake. Continue with some shopping in the typical Chinese Friendship Store and the neighbouring Silk Alley market. Overnight: Beijing.
