NST is a highly reputable tour operator and we fully comply with all the very latest DCSF and Scottish Executives guidance with regard to Health and Safety management. Our procedures are externally audited and verified annually, by a suitably qualified expert organisation.

Industry Best Practice on Safety Management
Our pioneering Safety Management System for Tour Operators is the basis for the current, recognised industry best practice. Our SMS policy document will enable you and your group leaders to provide evidence that by using NST, you are complying with the latest DCSF / Scottish Executive’s guidance on selecting a reputable tour operator that operates an externally verified Safety Management System to the required standards.
Teacher Preview Visits
As part of conducting risk assessments, NST encourages teachers to undertake a preview visit, especially when visiting a destination for the first time. We provide advice and assistance on conducting your preview visit with regard to risk assessment, itinerary planning, places to eat, evening entertainment ideas, accommodation and more, all aimed at helping you get the information you need. Emergency Procedures
As part of our Safety Management System, NST have in place a range of emergency procedures should the need arise. All group leaders travelling with NST will have access to 24 hour emergency support. Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Disclosures
Each coach company contracted to NST is required to take responsibility to establish that their drivers do not have a material criminal record or detrimental employment history. NST will only contract coach companies that will confirm that their tour drivers have received appropriate clearance from the Criminal Records Bureau or Scottish Criminal Records Office. Rules are also in place covering the use of non-UK coach companies.
For all NST owned and managed residential centres, CRB and appropriate police checks are carried out for all employees working on these sites.
