A visit to the USA will enable students to study more than 200 years of American History.

Starting with the American Civil War and the ‘founding fathers’  through the Wall Street Crash and the great Depression in the 1920’s, then onto America’s involvment in WWII and its knock on effects, the controversial Korean and Vietnam wars and finally ending at the  present day and shocking events of September 11th 2001 and its repercussions.

8 Day New York and Washington DC Inclusive

Day 1 New York

Flight to New York. On arrival meet your local NST representative who will escort you to your coach for your escorted coach transfer to your accommodation in central Manhattan and assist you with the check-in. Overnight: New York

Day 2 New York

Morning tour on foot with your guide of Midtown Manhattan. Your route will include views of Central Park, Fifth Avenue, Times Square, 42nd Street, and Broadway. Afternoon free for further  independent exploration. Overnight: New York.

Day 3 New York

Morning tour on foot with your guide of Lower Manhattan. Your route will include Battery Park, the Financial District including Wall Street, South Street Sea Port, Chinatown, Little Italy and SoHo. Afternoon free for further independent exploration. Optional Broadway show. Overnight: New York.

Day 4 Washington DC

Morning departure by coach to Washington DC, travelling via Philadelphia. Independent visit to the Historic District of this former capital and see the Liberty Bell or, as an extra cost option, groups may prefer a transfer via Gettysburg National Military Park where a guide will give an overview. Overnight: Washington DC.

Day 5 Washington DC

In the morning depart your accommodation for a guided tour on foot of the government buildings in Washington DC. The tour will include Pennsylvania Avenue, The US Capitol (the Senate, House of Representative, Supreme Court and Library of Congress), the Mall and the George Washington Monument. In the afternoon continue on foot or using public transportation to visit the Holocaust Museum. Overnight: Washington DC.

Day 6 Washington DC

In the morning depart your accommodation for a guided tour on foot to view the iconic monuments of Washington DC including the Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Arlington Cemetery , Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, finishing with view of the White House. Afternoon free for shopping or sightseeing. Overnight: Washington DC.

Day 7

Depending on your flight timings, free time for further exploration of many of the sites in Washington DC or on route to the airport. After checking out of your accommodation, transfer by coach to the airport for your return flight to the UK.

Day 8

Morning arrival in the UK.
