Barcelona

5 days by air

Day 1

Flight to Barcelona. On arrival meet your NST representative for an escorted coach transfer to your accommodation for check-in (included in your tour cost). Subject to flight timings, free time for independent sightseeing. Evening meal.

Day 2

Breakfast. Recommended optional morning guided city tour by coach for an opportunity to view some of the city’s spectacular architectural masterpieces such as Gaudi’s La Sagrada Familia cathedral or must see attractions such as Parc Güell.

In the afternoon suggested visit by public transport to the Nou Camp Stadium, home to FC Barcelona. This optional guided tour provides an opportunity to explore the fascinating museum, to visit the changing rooms of the opposition and walk down the tunnel onto the pitch area. Further opportunities include visiting the TV studio, the press rooms and the directors area, finishing with the chance to observe a panoramic view of all FC Barcelona facilities, a photo opportunity not to be missed.

Day 3

After breakfast, suggested morning coach excursion outside the city to the family owned Bodegas Torres Vineyard for a tour and film presentation explaining the production process of this highly regarded wine, exported to more than 120 countries.

In the afternoon, suggested coach excursion to the Circuit de Catalunya, for a guided visit of this world famous Formula One Spanish Grand Prix racetrack. Your students will be given access to normally restricted areas, including the paddocks, the control tower, and the podium in addition to the briefing and press rooms.

Day 4

Depart after breakfast for a suggested morning visit on foot or using public transportation to the Port of Barcelona, the main transport and services infrastructure in Catalonia and one of the leading ports of the Mediterranean and Southern Europe. A two hour guided visit will include an audio-visual presentation and a boat trip around the port area with explanations provided on the operational and logistical considerations of the Port that links markets as distant as the Far East and Latin America.

In the afternoon, time for independent exploration of the city. Suggested visits to Maremagum retail and leisure complex, the world famous Las Ramblas avenue and La Boqueria food market. Alternatively, time for an optional visit to L’Aquarium, one of the biggest in Europe, to marvel at the spectacular Mediterranean themed underwater scenes.

Day 5

Depart after breakfast (last meal included in the tour cost). Subject to flight timings, free time for independent sightseeing or shopping prior to your airport coach transfer for your return flight to the UK.
