Volcanic Ash Travel Disruption

Volcanic Ash Travel Disruption

As widely reported, following an eruption in Iceland a cloud of volcanic ash is currently covering much of the UK and Northern Europe. As a result there are flying restrictions in many areas.   The situation is very fluid and restrictions can change daily.

NST has set up a dedicated team to work with all groups affected and they are in contact with all schools and group leaders abroad.

Groups Overseas

Our initial priority has been to ensure our groups overseas are safe, comfortable and are well looked after. We are working individually with each group to provide the best solution for their particular cases. Our intention is to bring all groups home as soon as possible.

Groups due to travel from the UK

We are monitoring the situation closely and are in communication with the group Party Leaders. Where planned flights are not available we are working with each group to arrange suitable alternatives.

Contact Information

Our incident team is already communicating with all groups and will ensure they have the latest confirmed information. We understand the concerns of parents, but to minimise congestion and confusion, we ask all parents to contact their schools for updates.
