ROOMS: Rooms for students are usually 2 – 4 bedded while accompanying staff are accommodated in twins and singles in line with our booking conditions. Rooms are large and comfortable; however not all rooms have private facilities. There are ample communal bath and toilet facilities throughout the hotel. All of the staff rooms have tea and coffee making facilities. Please note that some of the rooms have balconies. It can be requested that these rooms are allocated to staff. This property has no specific facilities or adapted rooms for disabled clients.

FACILITIES: 4 lounges with TV’s, games room with 2 table tennis tables and a pool table, vending machines, coffee bar, indoor heated swimming pool, lounge bar is opened for adults in the evening.

NST SUMMARY: A family owned large Victorian building built in the late 19th Century in the Italian style of architecture.  A superb hotel with outstanding facilities and very hospitable hosts who provide excellent food. We recommend the Green Gables very highly indeed.

Rooms for staff have tea and coffee-making facilities and towels.  One bedroom has wheelchair access from the outside and is specially adapted for disabled persons.

FACILITIES: The hotel has a classroom which is tailored to school groups’ use, and is equipped with a white board, OHP and internet connection.  Residents’ bar, tuck shop, discos can be pre-booked, 24-hour reception with CCTV. There is ample off road parking for the coach.

NST SUMMARY: The hotel is in a good location, just a few minutes’ walk from the beach and shopping centre. The owners are very experienced in handling youth groups and a warm welcome is assured.

All rooms have private facilities and are decorated to a high standard. Bunk beds are used for students. Rooms are also equipped with colour television and rooms for accompanying staff also have equipped with tea and coffee making facilities.  There is a twin room suitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility, with an accessible shower, sink and toilet with grab rails. All communal areas of the hotel are accessible to wheelchair users. 

FACILITIES: Restaurant, private bar and lounge area.

NST SUMMARY:  Two traditionally built Victorian Houses which have been converted into an excellent, family-owned, one-group hotel, in the centre of York.  Joan, the owner, is very experienced in accommodating school groups and groups are assured of a very warm welcome.
